Amusement Rides 7: Winter 2005 - Spring 2006
If early signs are anything to go by 2006 could be one of the best seasons in years for new travelling rides and Amusement Rides DVD hopes to film all of them throughout the year.
Making a start on the new 2006 rides in Amusement Rides 7 features Perrin Matthews newly accquired KMG Tango possibly the best example in the world at the moment. Filmed both on and off ride at Kirkcaldy Links Market. Also featured is Walter Murphy's new Mondial Capiriolo - 2xtreme. At 164 feet tall it is one of the tallest travelling rides ever and hs proved very popular so far.
Also featured under new ownership is Top Buzz 2 now owned by Alan Crow. Filmed in the spring sunshine from several angles on and off ride at the Northallerton May Fair. Sedgwicks Superspin has had some LED's fitted and is onced again featured on Amusement Rides DVD seen in this volume at dusk thrilling riders in Kirkcaldy. Also filmed at Kirkcaldy is M&D's Fabbri built Eclipse ride and an on ride video of Abie Danters Wild Mouse Reverchon built roller coaster.
Finally there are three Waltzers featured which are Shaws wonderful Razzamatazz Waltzer at Kings Lynn Mart, Albert Evans Atmosphere Creator Waltzer feauturing scanner lights at Grantham Mid-Lent Fair and finally Asa Taylors Fairground Attraction attracting all the attention at Kirkcaldy Links Market.
Extra videos on the DVD includes the usual menu background video but also a 10 minute video of the SECC in Glasgow. This video features many of the rides including M&D's Mad Mouse, Sedgwicks Rotor and Charlie Hornes spectacular Hard Rock Waltzer.
While the running time of this DVD is only 53 minutes - alot shorter than recent volumes of Amusement Rides the extra space has been filled up with over 40 minutes of slideshow pictures. There are pictures of many of the new rides opening for the first time and photos of several fairs which are: Leeds, Stamford, Grantham, SECC, Kirkcaldy, Rushden, West Wycombe, Northallerton, York, Hampstead Heath, Hampton Court, Burton On Trent, M&D's Theme Park, Kings Lynn, Braehead Shopping Centre, Meadow Hall, Millennium Point and Peterborough.
